APPLICATION TO JOIN THE F.I.L.M. PROGRAM AS LEARNER
The Film Industry Learner Mentorship Program (F.I.L.M.) invites motivated, aspiring managers who have experience in the film industry to join the F.I.L.M. program which provides accelerated career opportunities through work-based mentorship in the following fields:
- Art Department Coordination
- Assistant Directing
- Line Production
- Location Management
- Film Production Accounting
- Production Coordinating
- Production Management
- Unit / Transport Management and related film industry technical skills
A Section 21 company focusing on skills development, training and mentorship, F.I.L.M. was established by Cape Town’s leading film companies to address transformation and the critical shortage of managers in the Film Industry.
In addition to work-based mentorship, F.I.L.M. provides formal learning and life-skills courses to fast-track the careers of aspiring managers from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Successful applicants on the program will be remunerated according to their experience, while working on a fixed term contract on local and international film productions or with productions companies.
This enables them to focus on acquiring skills from mentors who are experts in their field, working on productions. This ensures effective and accelerated skills transfer. Successful applicants will be required to live in Cape Town or relocate to Cape Town at their own cost, as the program is presently Cape Town-based.
